Freshdesk - Create Freshdesk tickets for new Incidents

  • You can also configure Freshdesk ticketing creation via Webhooks. 

The integration between Freshdesk and Squadcast is webhook based so you can also create tickets in Freshdesk from within Squadcast. The steps to integrate Squadcast with Freshdesk using webhooks for creating tickets:

Get Freshdesk API Key

  • Log in to your Freshdesk Support Portal > Go to your Profile (top right) -> Profile Settings -> View API Key > Copy the API Key.

Generate Basic Token:

  • Use a tool (e.g., Postman) to generate a basic token from the API Key.
  • In Postman, create a new tab and use the provided curl command with the API Key in the URL.
  • Configure Authorization -> Basic Auth -> Use API Key as the Username.
  • Copy the generated Basic Token from the Authorization header.

Set Up Webhook in Freshdesk:

  • Go to Settings -> Webhooks in Freshdesk.
  • Click "Add Webhook" and follow the three-step process.
  • Add Webhook Details like: Webhook Name, Webhook Description, Failure Notification Email, URL & Additional Headers.   
  • Choose a POST request and replace "domain" with your actual domain.

Choose Webhook Type:

  • Select Manual or Automatic Webhook type based on your needs.
  • For Manual: Choose authorized teams to access the webhook.
  • For Automatic: Select v2 version, triggers (e.g., Incident Triggered), and apply filters if necessary.

Configure Payload:

  • Select the pre-configured template for "Freshdesk - Create Ticket."
  • Customize priority, status, and additional fields as needed.
  • Test the webhook using the "Test Webhook" option.

Click "Save" to create the webhook.

By following these steps, you will integrate Squadcast with Freshdesk using webhooks to automatically create tickets in Freshdesk whenever incidents are triggered in Squadcast. Make sure to replace placeholders like "domain" with your actual information.

ServiceNow - Create ServiceNow tickets for new Incidents

ServiceNow is a cloud-based platform that provides IT service management (ITSM), IT operations management (ITOM), and IT business management (ITBM) services. It offers a wide range of features, including:

By integrating Squadcast and Asana, you can seamlessly bridge incident resolution and project execution, promoting efficient collaboration among teams. Here are the steps on how to integrate Squadcast with Asana using webhooks:

  • Go to Settings > Webhooks in Squadcast > Click Add Webhook.
  • Enter the details like Webhook name, Description, Failure Notification Email, URL/API, Additional Headers > Click Next.
  • Choose the webhook type: Manual or Automatic. Manual webhooks manually trigger webhooks under incidents, on demand. Whereas Automatic webhook automatically trigger webhooks when the configured conditions match.
  • For automatic webhooks, Select v2 version > Select the following trigger events (conditions) for which the webhook will be triggered:
  • Incident Triggered (This will create an Asana task whenever a new incident gets created in Squadcast.)
  • Incident Updated (This will create an Asana task whenever an existing incident gets updated in Squadcast.)
  • Incident Closed (This will create an Asana task whenever an existing incident gets closed in Squadcast.)
  • Click Save. Once you have completed these steps, Squadcast will automatically create tasks in Asana for new incidents, updated incidents, and closed incidents.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  1. The webhook URL is unique to your Squadcast account. Do not share it with anyone else.
  2. The failure notification email is optional, but it can be helpful if you want to be notified of webhook-related failures.
  3. The automatic webhook triggers are case-sensitive. Make sure to enter the correct trigger event names.

Trello - Create Trello cards for new Incidents

Trello is a web-based project management system that allows users to create, share, and organize tasks and projects in a visual and intuitive way. With the integration of Squadcast, users can receive detailed alerts from Trello in real-time and route them to the right person or team in Squadcast, streamlining incident management and improving response times.

Improve project management and incident resolution by automatically creating Trello cards for new incidents through Squadcast's integration. Outgoing webhooks help you create cards in Trello by utilizing Trello's Rest APIs.

To connect Trello with Squadcast, you need to create a Squadcast webhook in Trello. Here are the steps:

  • In Trello, go to the Group or Project where you want to configure the webhook.
  • Create a Squadcast webhook by using one of the two approaches mentioned in the Trello documentation.
  • Once the webhook is created, detailed events from Trello will be sent to the appropriate users in Squadcast.

ClickUp - Create ClickUp tasks for new incidents

ClickUp is a project management tool that streamlines task and project management. With its integration with Squadcast, you can route detailed alerts from ClickUp to Squadcast, ensuring that you never miss out on critical notifications. 

Here are the steps to integrate ClickUp with Squadcast:

  1. Go to the Squadcast app and click on the Integrations tab.
  2. Click on ClickUp and then click on Add ClickUp Integration.
  3. Enter your ClickUp API key and token.
  4. Select the workspace you want to integrate with Squadcast.
  5. Click on Save and you're done!

You can integrate ClickUp with Squadcast to create ClickUp tasks for incidents, enabling your team to stay on top of their tasks and manage incidents within the ClickUp ecosystem.

Using Outgoing Webhooks to Send Information to Squadcast

Outgoing webhooks are a way to send information from Squadcast to other applications. You can use outgoing webhooks to send data from Squadcast to any platform of your choice. 

Here are the steps to set up outgoing webhooks in Squadcast:

  1. Go to the Squadcast app and click on the Integrations tab.
  2. Click on Outgoing Webhooks and then click on Add Outgoing Webhook.
  3. Enter the webhook URL and select the events you want to trigger the webhook.

Click on Save and you're done!
