​APImetrics is an API Compliance, Monitoring and Security solution that lets you make and run API calls or sequences of API calls (workflows) from external, remote cloud locations using exactly the same security configurations as a typical end user would use.

If you use APImetrics for API calling requirements, you can integrate it with Squadcast, a Reliability Workflow platform, to route detailed alerts from APImetrics to the right users in Squadcast.

Integrating APImetrics with Squadcast

Using APImetrics as an Alert Source

Step1: In Squadcast, navigate to Services, then to Service Overview and select or search for your Service. Expand the accordion, in the Alert Sources section, click Add.

Step2: Select APImetrics. Copy the displayed Webhook URL to configure it within APImetrics. Finish by clicking Add Alert Source and then Done.

Please Note: When an alert source turns Active, it’ll show up under Configured Alert Sources, you can either generate a test alert from the integration or wait for a real-time alert to be generated by the Alert Source. An Alert Source is active if there is a recorded incident via that Alert Source for the Service.

Create a Squadcast Webhook Alert in APImetrics

Step1: Login to your APImetrics dashboard. Under the Alerts & Webhooks tab, click on + Add new action.

Step2: Now, enter the Name and select Type as Generic. Paste the previously copied Squadcast Webhook URL in the URL placeholder. Toggle the switch On for all the four Trigger alerts: Pass, Slow, Warning & Fail. Specify the remaining details accordingly and click Save.

That's it, you are good to go! Your APImetrics integration is now complete. Whenever APImetrics fires an alert, an incident will be created in Squadcast for it. Also, when an alert is cleared in APImetrics, the corresponding incident gets auto-resolved in Squadcast.
