Hold the confetti, everyone, because it's time to POP the champagne!
2023 was a year where Squadcast truly leveled up. We dropped some remarkable features that got our hearts racing (and alerts under control!), snagged some fantastic recognition for our impact, and even gave our website a stunning makeover. And we couldn't have done it without you! Buckle up to get a rewind of everything altogether, Let's get started.
We've spruced up our website! The changes aren't just skin-deep; we've fine-tuned our messaging and layout for a more user-friendly experience. Over the last year, we took in your valuable inputs and added more advanced tools to our Reliability Automation stack. This update to our website reflects our commitment to continued innovation and catering to the evolving needs of our clients.
2023 wasn't just another year – it was a relentless sprint at Squadcast, fueled by one mission: keeping your Incident Response team on their top game. We churned out cutting-edge features so you can wrestle down incidents at the best. Here are some of the remarkable feature updates that were released throughout the year:
Automate routine tasks, aligning with Site Reliability Engineering principles, and keep human-in-the-loop execution for critical decisions with Squadcast Workflows. You can automate post-incident actions like attaching runbooks, add communication channels & incident notes, make an HTTP call, send email, trigger manual webhooks, and mark SLO affecting incidents with sequential execution. All these workflows also come with easy pause/resume and quick duplication.
Services are core components of Squadcast Incident Management. We’ve made it easier & effortless to navigate service health with Service Graph! You can simplify monitoring and Incident Response by visualizing your services and dependencies in one easy-to-understand map.
Auto Pause Transient Alerts (APTA) optimizes Incident Response by automatically pausing notifications for alerts that typically auto-resolve quickly. During this pause, new alerts are viewable in a suppressed state on the Incident List page, allowing users to trigger actionable alerts if needed. If an alert doesn't auto-resolve within the configured time, APTA triggers an incident, ensuring timely response based on set Escalation Policies.
So useful right? We thought so too😊
For a smooth alert routing, we came up with Global Event Rulesets. Now you can create rulesets at the global level to eliminate the need for individual alert source webhooks for each Service. There's also a Catch All rule in place, ensuring that any alerts sent through event rules, which don't match any specific criteria, are automatically routed to the Service configured in the Catch All Rule
We have empowered our users to define deduplication keys using customizable templates for your configured alert sources. These keys help in identifying and grouping similar incidents, ensuring the effective elimination of duplicate alerts.
We are out with the latest & more improved version of our mobile app designed for delivering better user experience, enhanced design, greater stability, & reliability. Major updates include:
With the Past Incidents feature on board you can accelerate incident resolution with historical insights. Access a curated list of past incidents related to the same service, leveraging data science to provide valuable context, timing patterns, and prior solutions.
Level up your communication of critical outage and maintenance updates for enhanced control and informed stakeholder notifications. Major Status Page updates include:
